Christmas Tree Theme Ideas
Chocolate and Peppermint
Red, white, and chocolate is a great color combination. Peppermint balls and candy ornaments are plentiful and range in sizes from small to huge. Chocolate items such as cupcakes, ice cream, candies blend well with the red and white. Large pics and sprays shooting from the branches add pizzaz to your tree! These items look great on a green or white flocked tree with clear lights. Ribbon candies and peppermint candy canes adorn limbs and bows made of red, white or combination ribbon add fullness and help fill in the gaps. Strips of Merry Christmas Ribbon can be swirled around the tree for added color. The trees below are decorated with items from the RAZ Chocolate Bliss Collection.

Old Fashioned Multicolor
One of my personal favorites. Green tree with tiny multicolored twinkling lights. Large multicolored glittered balls and whimsical dangling ball ornaments make for a cheery, delightful tree. Children’s handmade ornaments blend in well with this style of decorating also. Multicolor star pics add height to your tree and multicolor sequin sprays and ball sprays tucked in branches help fill any gaps as a filler and add sparkle and shine to your masterpiece. Garlands in brightly colored beads pick up shine from the lights adding to your holiday sparkle. Large light bulb ornaments in solids and stripes add lots of color and more orange is found this year among the multicolored decorations. The whimsical old fashioned Christmas tree below is from the RAZ Winter Twinkle Collection.

Red and Silver
Many people decorate their homes with more than one Christmas tree using a more formal tree in a foyer, living room, dining room and a more traditional, old fashioned tree style in the living area, kitchen or children's rooms. Red and silver decorations are a stunning contrast to the deep green color of the evergreen. Red and silver glittered ornaments in all shapes and sizes pick up dazzle from clear tree lights. Large red ornaments, bows and flowers provide bold splashes of color. Large silver balls with chips of mirror and garlands and sprays made of mirror squares and sequins add to the sparkle. Clear crystal dangling style ornaments add a special touch. Even polka dot balls can fit in on a formal tree especially when they are color combinations of red, silver and crystal clear. The tree below from RAZ Holiday Shine Collection has colorful lighted red Christmas packages underneath the tree for a spectacular top to bottom display.

Gold
Gold decorations are a favorite for formal trees and its one style that you just can't put too much on a tree! The more the better! The shine of bright, burnished or antique gold contrasts to deep evergreen trees with clear lights. Many naturals can be used which have been spray painted with gold paint. A visit through the woods or just in your yard can produce branches suitable for spray painting. Magnolia branches do wonderfully well spray painted as do holly branches. Large gold balls, pinecones, and blossoms add large splashes of color. Twiggy or leafy garlands are great fillers and add shine. Antique oraments and rich brocade fabrics compliment new bright shiny ornaments as well. It's easy to continue this color theme with mantle top pieces using gold candles, greenery and bright glittering ornaments. Sheer gold ribbons, glittered metallic ribbons add to the opulence of the gold tree. Metallic fabric gathered loosely underneath the tree and tall spiking sprays and picks in sparkling gold coming out the top of the tree add a final touch. A Gold angel as a tree topper also is a grand finishing touch. The tree below is from the Jewel Yule Collection by RAZ.
