The fish has long been a symbol of Christ and of Christ's blessings on the world. Fish were fed to the masses and eaten by Christ and his disciples after his resurrection. For many Christians, the fish represents a profession of faith in the divinity and is often a symbol of the challenge Christ put to his followers. "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men." In many religions of the world, the fish is also a symbol of prosperity.
Handcrafted in Germany. Ornament is mouth blown and hand painted in the Inge-Glas® workshop in Neustadt, Germany; a business owned and operated by the Mueller-Blech family for 14 generations, since 1596.
